Greetings Dear Friends! Spring is fast approaching, as is an opportunity to surge into a new field of Aquarian energy with power and purpose upon your path.  It’s safe to say that we are truly in an age of profound transformation. Where every facet of our lives from the personal, to environmental, to geopolitical and beyond are being churned up in a great process of healing, purging and disruptive cleansing.  What’s becoming more and more apparent is the importance of leaning into all that is felt and experienced at this time without turning away.  Eyes steady. Breath calm. Heart centered and forward. Even if we have to take a knee from the weight of it all at times. Its courageous to love right now. Its brave to choose a creatively vital life.  This is where I stand as an ally to your path.  As a coach, a guide, a friend, and a spiritual warrior. Supporting your awakening to the greatest version of yourself.

Last Fall, we were excited to officially launch our beautiful new Communitas Sanctuary Center with a weekend Retreat Offerings called Journey of Origins.  Three weeks before our debut, Hurricane Helene came and changed the lives of all who live in these beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  Our family was gratefully not physically impacted by the catastrophe, but our plans to launch our retreat center were placed on hold as supported the recovery efforts together.  Now, we are thrilled rise like the Phoenix from the ashes to share this offering that is truly the culmination of my life’s work and service.  Please join us for the Journey of Origins Retreat May 15-18, 2025!

Who is it that rests at the core of our being? Beneath the stories and the dramas we pursue, beyond our carefully composed personality, there is an authentic self that resides at the very foundation of our nature. In this Journey of Origins experience, we are welcoming that deepest part of your soul to emerge.. To ignite that SpArc to emanate in wholeness once again. Beyond the mind, beyond the conditioning many of us have been taught from society and culture, beyond the roles we have learned to play.. There is something unique and profoundly sacred waiting to be expressed and realized within each and every one of us. This is our origin story.. This Journey is your invitation back to your essential self.

If there was any doubt if psychedelics have bridged into the main stream, we have officially crossed into the threshold my friends.  The movement has acquired a new advocate in none of other than Oprah! In this interview, Oprah and bestselling author Michael Pollan discuss the potential of psychedelic drugs like psilocybin and LSD as a benefit to help relieve symptoms of PTSD, OCD, anxiety, addiction, or depression. Michael’s 2018 book, “How to Change Your Mind”, was a watershed moment in the rising national conversation about the use of psychedelics in guided therapy.

Michael describes his own psychedelic experiences as well as additional guests, including GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons, who share their stories about how psychedelics helped them improve their mental well-being, cope with trauma and grief and achieve spiritual transcendence. Pollan taught for many years at UC Berkeley and is currently a professor teaching creative writing at Harvard.

A recent study in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs has shed light on a less discussed aspect of psychedelic experiences: the feelings of shame and guilt that can arise during these journeys. Researchers found that experiencing shame or guilt while using psilocybin, the psychoactive compound in magic mushrooms, is surprisingly common, affecting about two out of every three users.

However, the study also offered a positive perspective, indicating that how well individuals process these difficult emotions, rather than the intensity of the feelings themselves, is linked to their wellbeing in the weeks following the experience.

A new paper exploring the role of psilocybin mushrooms in the evolution of human consciousness says the psychedelic has the “potential to trigger significant neurological and psychological effects” that could have influenced the development of our species over time.

The literature review, which authors said draws on “a multidisciplinary approach spanning biology, ethnobotany and neuroscience,” examined studies involving psilocybin and human consciousness published in multiple journals in different fields. Their 12-page report highlights views that mushrooms played a crucial role in getting humans to where we are today.

“Integration might be the principle underlying health at all levels of our experience, from the microcosm of our inner word to our interpersonal relationships and life in our communities.” Dan Siegal
